Michael comes from a food technology background and has previously worked for Woolworths Supermarkets buying office, Hans Smallgoods, and JBS Australia prior to joining Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA). He leads a team that invests in a range of R&D programs such as Objective Measurement and Data Adoption, Digital Agriculture, Processing Interventions, Market Access Science, Food Innovation, People Capability Building, and New Science Building with early stage ventures. Michael completed his post graduate thesis on meat packaging systems and has a Master of Business Administration. He has also recently completed a three year position with The University of Melbourne as an adjunct senior research fellow.
